JNVST 2027 at a Glance

The paper has 80 questions for 100 marks and a duration of 2 hours. Each correct answer carries 1.25 marks and there is no negative marking. Eligible Divyang candidates receive 40 minutes of additional time.

Eligibility

  • The candidate must be studying in Class V for the full 2026-27 academic session in a recognized school.
  • The candidate must be a bona fide resident of the district for which admission is sought.
  • Date of birth must be from 1 May 2015 through 31 July 2017, inclusive.
  • The candidate must have completed the full Class III, IV and V sessions in the prescribed progression.
  • A candidate cannot repeat the selection test or appear a second time.

Application and Admit Card Notes

The online application deadline is 31 July 2026. The correction-window and admit-card release dates are not stated in the official prospectus and will be announced later. Please check the official NVS portal for the latest notices.

Documents to Keep Ready

At admission, the selected candidate must produce the documents and prescribed certificates required by NVS. Keep proof of date of birth, eligibility and district residence ready, together with rural-area, category and disability certificates wherever the respective claim applies. Always use the current official formats.

Exam pattern

Mental Ability and Environmental Studies are administered together for 60 minutes. Arithmetic and Language are 30 minutes each. The paper totals 80 questions, 100 marks and 2 hours. Each correct answer earns 1.25 marks; there is no negative marking.
